Human Resources Manager

About the Job 

Reporting to the CEO, the HR Manager will drive organisational excellence by providing strategic leadership and operational delivery of people and organisational development functions and services for Ngwala. 

The portfolio includes employee and industrial relations, learning and development, remuneration and benefits, talent management, workplace health and safety and workers compensation. 

This role has an audit, governance and compliance element in areas such as HR Information Systems, workplace health and safety and training and plays a support function to the executive staff. The HR Manager plays a key role in nurturing and developing a positive organisational culture based on Ngwala values.

About the Responsibilities

  • Ensure a workplace health and safety system is implemented and maintained including annual internal audit program
  • Conduct a training needs analysis for organization and develop training plans and programs to deliver efficiently and effectively and ensure mandatory training requirements are met
  • Support development of and implement recruitment and on boarding systems, processes and capability
  • Coach and develop front line leadership in people management principles and practices
  • Monitor the culture and engagement of the organisation and facilitate opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain performance management systems and processes and capability
  • Develop and implement a service delivery plan for Human Resources that meets or exceeds the customer expectations
  • Ensure the legislative, regulatory or accreditation standards are maintained at all times
  • Develop and implement remuneration, benefits, reward and recognition programs
  • Stay abreast of funding changes and opportunities, developing initiatives to optimise for Ngwala and the community
  • Undertake the role as Covid Officer
  • Manage and maintain key human resources suppliers and service provider relationships and contracts

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience working effectively as a HR Manager in a Aboriginal, Community, Aged Care or Health Related based organisation. 
  • Knowledge and experience of strategic HRM and ability to develop and deliver strategies and plans, ideally within a community or health related organisation.
  • Experience working within an accreditation and/or quality control organisation, with a focus on continuous improvement. 
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, OHS and Worker's Compensation legislation.
  • Strong analysis and numeracy skills with experience in organisational metrics and in developing, analysing data and reporting information to inform priorities. 
  • Substantial experience delivering HR generalist and recruitment services at all levels of the organisation. 
  • Demonstrated flexible attitude and the ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a senior team.
  • Project management skills including experience managing several projects simultaneously and delivering quality results within agreed timeframes.
