Warehouse Assistant

We are a family-owned wholesale distribution company specialising in the supply of a wide range of eco-friendly, sustainable, and socially responsible products for babies, children and their parents across Australia and New Zealand. We take pride in offering unique and high-quality products to our retailers and are looking for a hardworking, energetic and detail-oriented ‘all-rounder’ picker & packer to be part of our small warehouse-based team. 

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Executing order fulfilment; picking, packing, and labelling of orders for dispatch
  • Assisting with the setup, preparation and recording of accurate stocktakes
  • Receiving, checking and unloading inbound stock from containers and pallets
  • Assisting with the organisation and space management of stock in the warehouse
  • Maintaining warehouse presentation, cleanliness, organisation and safety of the space
  • Lifting and moving stock as required
  • General warehouse duties and other miscellaneous ad-hoc tasks as required
  • Liaising with other team members as required
  • Identifying areas of improvement within the warehouse and/or dispatch process

 

What is required of you?

  • Strong attention to detail. You will be responsible for ensuring that orders are accurately picked and despatched.
  • Numerical skills. A good grasp of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) is essential for swift and accurate picking.
  • Colour Recognition. Because of the nature of our main brand, an ability to easily differentiate colours is also essential.
  • Physically fit and happy to get your hands dirty. You will be on your feet much of the day and manual lifting will be required to a maximum of 20kg.
  • Ability to work fast and efficiently. Customers expect their orders to be packed and delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to communicate effectively with the team.
  • Double-Vaccinated. It is a requirement that you be double-vaccinated against COVID-19.

 

How much time will we require of you and what is the remuneration?

  • To start, we need someone to work for 16 hours a week (4 hours a day) from Monday to Thursday and anticipate this being between 10am to 2:30pm (with a half hour break for lunch). There is some flexibility on the start and finish times but the nature of our business requires it to be spread across the four days.
  • The hours may be extended by mutual agreement if we become busier than anticipated.
  • The starting rate for this position is $20 per hour. In addition, superannuation will be paid at the government stipulated rate into your nominated superannuation account and holiday pay accrued pro-rata.
