Sales Manager

OSA - Optical Supply of Australia - lenses are a part of the Essilor group and have been supplying Australian Independent Optometry for nearly 30 years providing local product supply with a friendly and professional customer service. 


An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the OSA sales team and take the business to the next level. The position will involve business planning, coaching and monitoring the activities of the OSA sales team to achieve sales targets and market share growth. As a sales leader, it will be important to balance defining prospects for new business as well as retention and growth strategies of our existing customers.


As a National Sales Manager, you will be:

  • Defining growth plans for optometry customer base leveraging OSA product portfolio, commercial offers, pricing strategy and practice staff education.
  • Developing our OSA partnership program member base through supportive relationships and business strategies to create a win/win outcomes.
  • Leading and coaching the OSA sales team on the selling and technical aspects of our products and services, marketing campaigns, sales promotions, sales techniques, procedures and standards that will help them achieve their sales targets.
  • Driving collaborative working relationships with Customer Service, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure a high level of service.
  • Management tracking and reporting of performance.


To be successful you will:

  • Have prior success developing sales territories through a combination of motivating, coaching and training a sales team; 
  • Exhibit confidence analysing and interpreting sales data to generate growth plans for the team opportunities, and in the use of a CRM and Microsoft Office suite (such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Have strong communication and presentation skills, in both oral and written form, virtual and in-person;
  • Have sound planning and organisational skills, with the flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business and customer requirements;
  • Hold a current Driver’s License, and have a vehicle as tool of trade;
  • Have the flexibility to travel intrastate, and participate in interstate travel for tradeshows, sales conferences etc from time to time;  and
  • Be driven to achieve sales objectives by possessing a high level of established business acumen and negotiation skills.


This role is an ideal opportunity for a skilled business development manager in a healthcare related discipline to make a difference in a rapidly growing industry by using their clinical background and business expertise. Candidates with experience in the Optical Industry (including formal qualifications and/or Optical Practice Management experience) will be highly regarded.


The role will manage a team of 5 across Australia.

The position is based ideally in Victoria but NSW and QLD would be considered.
